INSTRUCTIONS

Answer all questions honestly.

There are no trick questions.

Use only your own knowledge and play experiences to answer the questions.
Do NOT use any reference materials!

Select only ONE answer per question.

With questions concerning NTRP levels or your abilities,
if you think more than one answer applies to you,
then select the UPPERmost one
(i.e., the one closest to the question itself).

You do not have to answer every question,
but the more questions you answer,
the more accurate your Unofficial NTRP Test results will be.

Feel free to read all the questions before answering any of them.

           2

    4-4
    6-0
    6-6
    7-5

Referring to the Court Diagram, shown above or in the pop-up,
if you are 'X', which box must you SERVE TO?
(enter one alphabet letter from the diagram)

Referring to the Court Diagram, shown above or in the pop-up,
which box(es) are in ALL the DOUBLES ALLEYS?
(enter one or more of the alphabet letters from the diagram)

(enter one or more of the alphabet letters from the diagram)
       (examples: XYZ or X,Y,Z or X Y Z)

Referring to the Court Diagram, shown above or in the pop-up,
you are 'X'. During a rally, you hit a ball that lands in box E,
which then bounces back over the net,
and bounces twice in box M
without anyone else hitting it or anything else touching it.
WHO WINS THE POINT?
    Me
    My opponent

You are serving to your opponent.
Your first serve bounces off the net, very high and very long,
clearly heading "out", when your opponent catches it.
WHICH OF THE FOLLOWING SHOULD HAPPEN?
(n.b., this occurred during the 2010 US Open in a televised match;
2 of the 3 commentators got the wrong answer; 1 guessed the right answer, but wasn't sure;
all 3 were retired pro tennis players, 2 of whom won multiple Grand Slam championships!
So, if you get the question wrong, you're in good company!)
The point goes to the receiver because the ball would have been "out" anyway
The point goes to the server because the opponent caught it before it landed out or bounced twice
Flip a coin to see who wins the point
It is a let: first serve

TACTICS

Referring to the Court Diagram, shown above or in the pop-up,
in SINGLES, if you are 'X' and your opponent is standing in box A,
and the ball is coming to you,
which of the following is the MOST likely way to WIN the point?
(note: this question also tests your knowledge of tennis terminology)
    DOWN-THE-LINE
    CROSS-COURT
Hit the ball back to my opponent in box A
    I automatically win the point
because my opponent is standing in the doubles alley
I automatically lose the point because I am standing outside the court

THE TEST IS OVER!
